Kate founded School the World in 2009. Her vision is to fight extreme poverty at its roots by bringing education to the world’s poorest children. Prior to School the World, she was an attorney and executive at General Electric Company. She grew up in Bridgeport, CT and enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her very large extended family.


Natalie Hambor

Chief Operating Officer

Natalie has a background in entrepreneurship, finance and marketing as well as a strong passion for global service travel. Natalie joined School the World in 2015 and managed the Student & Corporate Service Program, growing it to what it is today. Now, as our Chief Operating Officer, Natalie oversees all international and domestic program operations, administration, HR and finance. Originally from Connecticut, she's been a Bostonian transplant since her days at Northeastern University - Go Huskies!


Bianca Argueta

Director of M&E and Director of Programs, Guatemala

Bianca has a master's degree in monitoring, evaluation, and educational research. She gained her experience while working in projects funded by USAID and with some Guatemalan Universities. She is also an educational researcher who has been published in university magazines.

She is passionate about education, which she considers the way to achieve a better quality of life. Bianca enjoys working in communities and learning from those around her.

Ana Joya

Regional Director of Programs

Ana has always felt the call to work in development and a passion to help others. Ana started working with young people at her first job as a Community Development Coordinator at the American Field Service (AFS). For 11 years Ana worked at World Renew in Honduras, gaining experience in managing different community development projects and programs.

Now, as Regional Director, Ana has learned how important education is and how it can transform a child's life for the better!
