Honoring Alberto Musalem
Alberto Musalem’s own story is one of education’s quiet power. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and lived in Brazil and Argentina before emigrating to the U.S. and graduating from the public school system in Maryland. That foundation carried him to the London School of Economics and ultimately to a PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
For years, Alberto brought that same belief in education’s transformative potential to School the World, serving on our Board of Directors and as Board Chair during a defining chapter in our growth. His leadership, generosity, and deep understanding of what it means to build opportunity from the ground up have shaped this organization in ways that will outlast any single program or milestone.
We are proud to honor Alberto Musalem with our Champion for Education Award.
