Help us build better futures

Impact

We work with parents, government officials, and the elders of the community in Central America. We believe that accountability is key in improving the quality of education in rural Guatemala, Panama, and Honduras. We build schools and playgrounds, train teachers, grant scholarships to the most vulnerable students, and engage parents through training so that they know how to demand quality education for their children.

Our Programs

Community Building for the
Greater Good

School the World has been clear about one thing from the start: a desire to work with communities who want to collaborate in creating a positive change through the power of education. That is the key to having real, sustainable change that can stand on its own. By collaborating with parents, communities, and local governments to build schools, train teachers, fill classrooms with books and empower parents, School the World has become a catalyst for sustainable development in the area of education in rural Central America. This multi-stakeholder approach enables better education by involving communities that want real change. We work at the grassroots community level and our programs span early childhood development through primary and lower secondary school.

Early Childhood

The Early Childhood Program objective is to ensure that children from 0 to 6-years old develop the basic skills and abilities they need to be ready to learn when they start 1st grade.

Primary School

Our five-pillar model builds safe and comfortable school buildings and playgrounds, deeply engages parents, creates classroom libraries, to create a thriving school.

Scholarships & Alternative Schooling

Most communities we work in do not have schools after the sixth grade and children have to travel long distances by foot to get to school, which is not always safe.

Accelerated Learning Recovery

Adapt the rigorously tested and proven model of Teaching at the Right Level for a small group tutoring program for the Spanish language and the contexts of rural and primarily indigenous communities.
