We believe that by working together we can create a world where every child has the quality education they deserve. That is why we work both on the ground in poverty stricken countries and right here in the United States.
Everyone, working together, towards making our world a more just place.
WHERE WE WORK:
We work at the grass-roots level to organize communities around education from early childhood through adolescence.
Early childhood development programs set a strong foundation for learning and school. Yet, over 175 million children are not even enrolled in pre-primary education. The numbers are even more staggering for early childhood programs. We're on a mission to change that.
We call our primary schools community schools because we believe that in order for children to thrive, communities, not just classrooms, must be centered around education. We partner with the local government, teachers & parents to get kids in school earlier, keep kids in school longer and make sure they are learning the basic skills required to succeed in life.
Oportunidad Basico provides middle-school-aged children with the opportunity to continue their learning past primary school. We provide multiple solutions for the various obstacles adolescents face when trying to continue their education past primary school. Each program includes mentor support throughout these pivotal adolescent years as well as digital literacy and technology trainings.
IN THE U.S.
We provide U.S. citizens the opportunity to make a difference for some of the world's poorest children. Through both cross-cultural service trips and educational seminars geared towards middle and elementary schools, we provide opportunities to learn about the importance of global service and citizenship.
Our Global Service & Citizenship Program empowers U.S. students, companies and families to make a difference in the lives of children and families living in extreme poverty.
